• Location: Tacoma, WA 98405 (Washington nursing jobs)
• Setting: Pediatric Emergency Department (PEDS ED)
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks (Start: 10/20/2025 – End: 1/17/2026)
• Shift: 12-hour rotating shifts
• Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours per week
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $2,100 - $2,250
• Unit Details: 35 beds (21 ER plus fast tracks/surgical suite)
• Nurse to Patient Ratio: 1:3 standard acuity; 1:6 lower acuity
• Support Staff: 24/7 clinical support
• EMR: Epic electronic medical records

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Minimum 1.5 years of pediatric emergency department RN experience
• At least 6 months of triage and trauma nursing experience
• Proven skills in general pediatric ED care, mental health, trauma, and triage
• Required Certifications: TNCC, PALS, BLS, CPI or MOAB
• Active Registered Nurse license (Washington or compact state)
• First-time travel nurses are encouraged to apply

Key Nursing Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality patient care to children in the emergency department
• Perform triage, trauma assessment, and emergency interventions
• Provide mental health support and crisis intervention for pediatric patients
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare teams and document care using Epic EMR
• Maintain safe nurse-to-patient ratios and uphold best practices in pediatric emergency nursing
