3 shifts per 13 week contract; 2 shifts per 12 weeks or less

Experience: Minimum 2 years of recent ER RN experience

Start Date: July 21
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Hours: 36 hours/week (3x12s, Night Shift)
Shift: Nights, Every Other Weekend
Location: Float across Emergency Department and Inpatient Units as needed

• Certifications:
  • BLS (Basic Life Support)
  • ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support)
  • TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course)
  • PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) or ENPC (Emergency Nursing Pediatric Course)
  • RN license compact/state
• Preferred: Charge experience, Level 3 or higher trauma experience, triage (ESI level 5), Telemetry interpretation

• ER Beds: 2 trauma rooms, 11 exam rooms (4 fast-track)
• Patient Ratio: 1:4
• Common Cases: Standard ER patients, psych holds, prison patients, laboring mothers (stabilize & transfer)
• Floating: Required across ED and inpatient units
• Orientation: 2–3 shifts (unit-specific)

• Charge RN: RN Shift Coordinator (RSC), takes 1 patient
• Nurse Aides: 1 aide 24/7, 2 aides 2p–2a
• EMR: CareView
• Telemetry: Must interpret strips
• Vents: Yes, prior to ICU transfer
• MD/PA Coverage: 1 ER Physician 24/7; PA starts at 2p
• Hospitalist: In-house until 5p
• RT: 24/7
• Pharmacy: Open 6a–10p; after-hours support via Carnival contract, on-call mixing available
• IV Team: Not available
• Scrubs: Provided

• Weekend Requirement: Every other or every third weekend
• Holiday Requirement: Works into staff rotation
• Floating: Yes, across ED and inpatient units as needed
• Shift Times: 6a, 9a, 11a, 1p, 3p, 6p – biggest needs are mid to night shifts
