ER Nurse Job Details

• Location: Maryville, Tennessee 37804 (East Tennessee healthcare jobs)
• Facility: Community Hospital Emergency Department (44 beds, 27 rooms, 130 daily census)
• Contract Type: Travel Nursing Contract
• Start Date: December 1, 2025
• End Date: March 2, 2026
• Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: Night shifts, 3x12-hour (18:45 - 07:15)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Coverage: Required
• Orientation: 36 hours (modules reimbursed up to 16 hours)

Emergency Room Nurse Qualifications

• Active Tennessee or multistate Registered Nurse license
• Minimum 1 year of recent ER nursing experience
• Certifications: ACLS, BLS, CPI/MAB, PALS, NIHSS (TNCC preferred)
• Proficiency with EPIC EMR (minimum 1 year preferred)
• Ability to manage patient ratios of 4:1
• Experience caring for neonates, infants, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics
• Community hospital nursing experience preferred
• Flu vaccine required (no exemptions)
• Eligible to float to qualified units as needed

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages and acuity levels
• Perform triage, assessment, and prioritization of patient care in a fast-paced ER setting
• Administer emergency medications and manage acute medical and trauma situations
• Initiate and manage IVs, arterial lines, central lines, ventilators, CPAP/BiPAP, and chest tubes
• Interpret dysrhythmias and manage cardiac emergencies
• Provide care for mental/behavioral health conditions, drug overdoses, and psychiatric holds
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and rapid response
• Maintain accurate documentation in EPIC EMR
• Float to other qualified units as required
