• Patient Population: Adults, Pediatrics, Geriatrics
• Unit Details: 11 ER rooms plus 18 hallway beds for high census periods

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license, eligible for Connecticut nursing jobs
• Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS
• COVID-19 vaccine and booster (medical/religious exemptions considered)
• Experience with Meditech charting system preferred
• Ability to manage a patient ratio of 1:4-5 (subject to census and staffing)
• References and certification documentation required upon submission

ER Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
• Perform triage, rotate assignments, and assume charge nurse duties as needed
• Interpret and manage cardiac dysrhythmias
• Initiate and maintain intravenous (IV) lines
• Utilize Meditech for accurate charting and clinical documentation
• Respond to a variety of emergency diagnoses, including chest pain, abdominal pain, and orthopedic trauma
• Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams to optimize patient outcomes
