ER Registered Nurse Job Details

Location: Lansing, MI 48912 (Michigan nursing jobs)
Healthcare Setting: Emergency Room (ER), Level I Trauma Center
Assignment Length: 13 weeks (10/28/2025 – 1/27/2026)
Shift: Night shift, 4x12-hour shifts (19:00 – 07:30)
Hours per Week: 36
Weekend Requirement: 3 weekends (Fri-Sun) per 4-week schedule
Floating: Yes, including to Pediatric Emergency Department if needed

ER Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Michigan (must be active by start date; compact licenses not accepted)
Minimum 1.5 years of recent ER nursing experience in a Level I Trauma Center (2 years preferred)
Current certifications required:
ACLS (AHA preferred)
BLS (AHA preferred)
PALS
TNCC
ENPC
NIHSS

Proficiency with EPIC charting system

Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias

Proof of high school education required

Travel nursing experience preferred; first-time travelers welcome

ER Registered Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality emergency nursing care in a fast-paced, high-acuity clinical environment
Manage patient ratios typically 1:5-6, with potential to reach 1:8 during peak periods
Provide care for a diverse patient population: adolescents, infants, adults, pediatrics, and geriatrics
Perform triage, continuous IV sedation, procedural sedation, and trauma management
Administer blood products, manage arterial and central lines, and care for ventilated patients
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams including IV, respiratory, radiology, pharmacy, and more
Float to Pediatric Emergency Department as needed
Complete all required pre-assignment modules and orientation
Work at least 2 of 3 major holidays during the contract (Thanksgiving, Christmas, New Year's)
