Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for an Emergency Department position with a rotating schedule and Level III Trauma Center experience required.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Department of a Level III Trauma Center
• Patient population includes neonates through geriatrics with trauma, sepsis, STEMI, stroke, DKA, mental health, and respiratory/cardiac issues
• 27 ED beds, 12 Fast Track rooms (4 monitored), 15 hallway beds (11 monitored)
• Handles cases such as trauma, GSW, firework injuries, <40 mph MVAs, and extreme crash trauma
• Schedule consists of 12-hour rotating shifts, with likely evenings or nights and required flexibility
• Weekend rotation is every other weekend
• No call required
• Must float to nearby Covington ED if census is low
• Uses Epic EMR (experience required)
• Primary responsibilities include providing emergency nursing care for a diverse patient population across all age groups
• Higher proportion of mental health patients in this area
• Must be comfortable with trauma and acute medical emergencies
• Some pediatric cases, primarily respiratory, occur during the fall season
• Professional scrubs required; any color is acceptable except for t-shirts or hoodies
• First-time travelers are encouraged to apply

Requirements

• Active WA or compact RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of recent experience in a Level I, II, or III Emergency Department
• Certifications required: BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, NIHSS
• CPI/MOAB, TNK administration, and experience with Belmont infuser preferred
• Demonstrated skills in adult and pediatric emergency care, cardiac rhythm interpretation, IV skills, procedural sedation, blood administration, cardiac medications, and code blue situations
• Epic charting experience required
