Position: Travel RN – Cardiovascular Operating Room (CVOR)

Facility: Heart Hospital of Austin
Location: 3801 North Lamar, Austin, TX 78756
Unit: Surgery – CVOR (Cost Center 701)
Contract Length: 13 weeks
Start Date: October 20, 2025
Shift: 6:30 AM – 5:00 PM | 4x10-hour shifts/week
On-Call Requirement:

• 1 weekday on-call per week
• 1 weekend on-call every 6 weeks

Unit Details:

• Location: Main Hospital, 1st Floor
• Patient Ratio: 1:1 (procedural setting)
• Equipment:
  • Surgical instruments
  • Bovie cautery
  • EVH video tower
  • Laparoscopic video tower
  • Surgical tourniquet
  • IABP console
  • Impella console
  • Cryo system
  • Patient warming/cooling system
• EMR: Meditech
• Permanent Positions Available: Yes (CVOR CST and CVOR RN)

Requirements:

• Experience: Minimum 1 year CVOR RN experience required
• Certifications: BLS, ACLS
• Skills:
  • Experience with CVOR procedures
  • Ability to work in high-acuity surgical settings
• Procedures Performed:
  • CABG
  • Aortic/Mitral Valve Repair/Replacement
  • AAA Endovascular & Open
  • AV Fistula creation/revision/thrombectomy
  • Hemodialysis catheter (HDC), CAPD, BBT
  • TAVR, TMVR, MitraClip
