Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Cardiovascular ICU night shift position requiring a MA RN license and strong critical care competency.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a Heart and Vascular Critical Care/Surgical Trauma ICU within a hospital setting
• 30-bed critical care unit with 23 beds for medical and surgical cardiac patients and additional beds for surgical ICU cases
• Patient population includes STEMI, cardiac arrest, heart failure, post cardiac surgery, valve replacement/repair, and TAVR cases
• Nights, 12-hour shifts
• Nurses may float to IMC units as needed
• Typical nurse-to-patient ratios range from 1:1 to 1:2 based on acuity
• Common cases include up to 4 open heart surgeries per day
• Advanced cardiovascular and critical care devices in use: IABP, Impella CP and 5.5, Heartmate 2 and 3 LVAD, RVAD, ECMO, CRRT
• Work as part of a multidisciplinary team caring for complex cardiac and surgical ICU patients
• Exposure to high-acuity cardiovascular and critical care cases
• May be required to assist in cardiac surgical procedures and care for device-supported patients
• No on-call requirement for this position
• Two professional references and copies of all active certifications required for consideration

Requirements

• Active MA RN license required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• CCRN certification preferred but not required
• 3-5 years of critical care experience preferred
• Competency with advanced cardiovascular devices such as IABP, Impella, LVAD/RVAD, ECMO, and CRRT preferred
