• Unit: Cardiac Stepdown / IMCU / Progressive Care
• Assignment Type: Travel RN
• Start Date: November 3, 2025
• End Date: February 2, 2026
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7p-7a)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Weekend Requirement: 4 weekend shifts per assignment
• Number of Beds: 10-bed cardiac stepdown unit
• Patient Ratios: 1:3 or 1:4
• Electronic Medical Record: Meditech EMR
• Scrub Color: Blue
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1360-$1460

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active RN license (Texas or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in IMCU, Progressive Care, or ICU-Stepdown nursing
• Current ACLS and BLS certifications
• Experience with Bipap, trach vents, and cardiac drips (Amiodarone, Heparin, Cardizem, 3% Saline) preferred
• Familiarity with chest tube insertion procedures is a plus
• Flexible, positive attitude and strong clinical skills
• Ability to float to IMCU/Stroke department as needed

Cardiac Stepdown RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to cardiac stepdown patients in a 10-bed unit
• Monitor and manage patients requiring advanced cardiac therapies and interventions
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips such as Amiodarone, Heparin, and Cardizem
• Operate and monitor Bipap and trach vent equipment
• Assist with chest tube insertions and other cardiac unit procedures
• Document patient care using Meditech EMR
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team to ensure optimal patient outcomes
• Maintain a flexible, team-oriented, and positive work environment
