Cath Lab Registered Nurse (RN) 

Location: Washington, DC 

Start Date: November 17, 2025

We are seeking a highly experienced Cath Lab RN to join our team at a short-term acute care teaching hospital in Washington, DC. This is a full-time travel contract requiring advanced clinical skills in cardiovascular and peripheral procedures. The role demands precision, adaptability, and a commitment to excellence in patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide nursing support for diagnostic and interventional cardiac and peripheral procedures
• Monitor patients during left and right heart catheterizations, angioplasty, stent placements, and pacemaker insertions
• Administer medications and manage sedation per protocol
• Maintain sterile technique and assist with scrub and circulate duties
• Respond to emergencies and participate in rapid response interventions
• Ensure accurate documentation and use of Cerner charting system

Schedule Details:

• Day shift: 4x10-hour (07:00–17:30)
• No holidays off
• Must be available to start on December 1, 2025

Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of Cath Lab RN experience
• At least one prior travel assignment
• Strong background in adult and geriatric cardiovascular care
• Proficient in hemodynamic monitoring and recognition of life-threatening arrhythmias

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• ACLS

Skills Required:

• Diagnostic catheterizations (adult)
• Hemodynamic monitoring
• Permanent and temporary pacemaker insertion
• AICD insertion and programming
• Angioplasty and stent placement
• Fluoroscopy and EKG lead placement
• Isolation precautions and sterile field maintenance
