**Job Description: Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN)**

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Psychiatric Registered Nurse (RN) to join our esteemed Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. The ideal candidate will be responsible for providing high-quality nursing care to patients with various psychiatric conditions in a supportive and therapeutic environment.

**Key Responsibilities:**
- Deliver patient-centered nursing care while ensuring a safe and therapeutic environment.
- Participate in therapeutic group activities, assisting in topics such as coping skills, self-expression, and recreational therapy.
- Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living (ADLs), including hygiene, meal tray management, and personal laundry.
- Monitor patient vital signs and document patient behavior and progress accurately.
- Engage in verbal de-escalation techniques and respond effectively to situations where physical intervention may be necessary.
- Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams, including mental health technicians, to provide comprehensive care.
- Maintain professional communication with patients, families, and the healthcare team to support treatment plans.

**Qualifications:**
- Active New York RN license, or proof of application with applied date, is required at the time of submission.
- Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience as a registered nurse, preferably in psychiatric or mental health settings.
- Certification in BLS and CPI/PMCS or MOAB is mandatory.
- Experience with EPIC or similar electronic medical records systems within the last two years is required.
- Ability to work 12-hour night shifts and meet weekend and holiday requirements.

**Unit Details:**
- The unit includes 18 private adult inpatient beds with an average daily census of 11 patients and a Child & Adolescent unit with 12 beds.
- Staffing consists of registered nurses, mental health technicians, and unit clerks to ensure effective patient care.
- The patient population includes all psychiatric diagnoses, with a focus on ages 6-18 for child patients and 18 and above for adults.

**Work Environment:**
- Fast-paced inpatient setting requiring strong clinical skills and the ability to manage multiple responsibilities.
- Orientation period provided to acclimate to unit protocols and procedures.
