Psychiatric Registered Nurse - Night Shift

12-hour night shifts from 7 PM to 7 AM.

Job Description

We are seeking a dedicated Psychiatric Registered Nurse to join our Inpatient Psychiatry Unit. The unit provides acute care for patients with various psychiatric diagnoses and includes both adult and pediatric populations. The selected candidate will be integral in providing high-quality patient care and maintaining a therapeutic environment.

Responsibilities

• Be visible and available on the unit to meet patient requests and needs as they arise.
• Lead therapeutic group activities aimed at skill development and emotional support.
• Assist patients with Activities of Daily Living, ensuring their needs for hygiene and nutrition are met.
• Gather and monitor patient vital signs.
• Participate in the verbal de-escalation of patients and respond to situations where physical intervention may be necessary.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure

• Minimum of 1 year of clinical experience preferred, especially in a psychiatric setting.
• Must have prior travel experience in a similar facility type.
• AHA BLS certification is required.
• CPI or PMCS certification is required.
• Experience with EPIC documentation system is mandatory.
