Job Title: Registered Nurse – Operating Room (OR)

Location:  Washington, DC 20037

Contract Duration: 13 Weeks 

Shifts Available (2 Positions):

Monday–Friday, 11:00 AM – 7:00 PM + 12 hours of on-call every other weekend

Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 5:00 PM + 12 hours of on-call every other weekend

Responsibilities:

• Perform scrubbing and/or circulating duties for operative procedures.
• Admit and prepare patients for operative procedures in compliance with aseptic techniques.
• Prepare operating room by assembling and verifying equipment, implants, and surgical supplies.
• Coordinate with the surgical team to assess, plan, implement, and evaluate intraoperative patient care.
• Serve as a communication liaison among the patient, family, and surgical team.
• Maintain accurate documentation and adhere to established safety and care standards.
• Ensure proper function and availability of surgical equipment before procedures.

Requirements:

• License:
  • Current and valid Registered Nurse license for DC (Required)
• Certifications:
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) – Required
  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) – Required
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) – Required
• Experience:
  • Minimum 3 years of recent Operating Room RN experience (Required)
• Education:
  • Graduate of an accredited or NLN-approved nursing program (Required)
  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) – Highly Desired
