Telemetry RN Job Details

• Location: Mission Hospital, Asheville, NC 28801
• Unit: 6 West Neurosciences (36-bed Telemetry unit)
• Assignment Type: Travel RN Contract
• Start Date: November 17, 2025
• End Date: February 16, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13 weeks
• Shift: 12-hour night shifts (6:45 PM – 7:15 AM)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Schedule: Every other weekend required
• Dress Code: Navy blue scrubs

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active, unencumbered RN license (North Carolina or compact state)
• Minimum 1 year of recent Telemetry or Med-Surg nursing experience
• Current ACLS and NIH Stroke Scale certifications
• Proficient in IV starts and Foley catheter insertions
• Strong clinical skills and self-motivated, outgoing personality
• Neurosciences or neuro nursing experience preferred
• Ability to float to other Med-Surg units as needed

Telemetry Nurse Responsibilities

• Deliver direct patient care on a 36-bed Neurosciences Telemetry unit
• Monitor and interpret cardiac rhythms and neurological status
• Perform nursing procedures including IV starts and Foley insertions
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare team members
• Document patient care accurately using Cerner EMR
• Follow hospital policies, unit guidelines, and safety protocols
• Participate in orientation and utilize staff reference materials
