Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for an Interventional Radiology position requiring strong neuro IR and stroke patient experience and daytime availability with call requirements.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care Interventional Radiology (IR) unit
• Patient population includes neuro IR, dialysis, and stroke cases
• Familiarity with catheters, guide wires, and diagnostic x-rays required
• Uses axiom artis (Siemens) IR equipment and Epic for charting
• Day shifts from 7:00 am to 4:30 pm with possible call responsibilities
• Orientation includes a 12-hour training period
• Radiation badge provided by employer
• Responsibilities include care of IR, neuro, dialysis, and stroke patients and use of related equipment
• Pass/fail skills exam covering orientation material required with a minimum score of 90% needed to continue assignment
• Artificial nails are strictly prohibited for infection control in patient care areas
• Radiation safety badge is provided and must be worn as directed
• First-day orientation includes an open-book skills assessment
• Returning employees or travelers from CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity within the past year are not eligible

Requirements

• Active RN license in state of practice or compact (NLC); pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience in Interventional Radiology required
• Current certifications: BLS (AHA), ACLS (AHA), NIHSS
• Knowledge of c-arm studies in surgery is a plus but not required
• Fingernail policy prohibits artificial nails for patient care staff
• Must live at least 50 miles from the facility; driver's license required to confirm residence
• Candidates cannot have been employed (FT, PT, PRN) by CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity in the past year
• Two professional references required—one from a recent supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years
