Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced MRI Technologist with ARRT and BLS certifications for an acute care Level II trauma setting using EPIC EMR.

Responsibilities

• Work in an acute care hospital setting within a busy MRI department
• Department features 3 MRI machines, including Siemens Espree, Siemens Trio, and GE Architect
• Patient population includes adults, geriatrics, and some pediatric cases from the ER
• Imaging includes MRI with sedation or general anesthesia, conditional pacemakers, and breast MRI
• Uses EPIC EMR and McKesson PACS systems
• Scheduled for 12-hour shifts on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 7:00 AM to 7:30 PM
• Cyclic scheduling handled by supervisors; mixed 9, 10, and 12-hour shifts may occur
• Call is required one weekend every 6 weeks (Friday PM to Monday AM) and one day per week
• Orientation is approximately 3 days in length
• Night shift staff must also have CT/X-ray experience, and may cover x-ray as needed
• Weekend coverage is every 4th weekend for day shift and every other weekend for night shift
• Expected to work 2 holidays per year
• Perform MRI studies on a variety of patients, including sedation/general anesthesia cases and those with conditional pacemakers
• Team may be asked to float to other modalities if qualified, especially to support CT and x-ray coverage during night shifts
• Department is fast-paced, requiring adaptability and efficiency
• Landauer radiation badges provided for staff
• Artificial nails are not permitted for staff involved in patient care
• RTO (requested time off) must be provided up front; maximum 7 days per 13-week contract with no additional RTO approved after submission
• Candidates must live at least 50 miles from the facility, as determined by driver's license address
• Scrub and dress code policy applies per department standards

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years MRI experience required
• Current ARRT and BLS certifications required
• Active state or compact (NLC) licensure required at time of consideration; pending licenses not accepted
• License required if applicable
• Must have experience with EPIC EMR
• Night shift candidates must have experience in CT and X-ray
• Driver's license required for verification of eligibility due to 50-mile radius rule
• Must provide 2 professional references, including one supervisor from the past 12 months and one peer or supervisor from the past 3 years
• Must not be currently employed (full-time, part-time, or PRN) at any facility associated with CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity and must not have been directly employed in the past year
