Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced MRI Technologist for night shifts, requiring ARRT(R) or NMTCB and ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT certifications along with BLS.

Responsibilities

• Work in a Trauma Level III, teaching hospital with 457 licensed beds
• Department serves ED, inpatient, observation, and outpatient populations
• Average daily caseload is 30-40 patients
• Imaging includes neuro, cardiac, pediatric (with and without anesthesia), medical device patients, and anesthesia cases as needed
• MRI equipment includes GE 1.5 SIGNA Artist 450W and Siemens 3T Skyra
• Uses Epic EMR, Epic Radiant RIS, and Philips iSite PACS
• 12-hour night shifts, Friday to Sunday, 6:00 PM – 6:30 AM
• Position is for all weekends and 75% of holidays
• No floating or on-call required
• Permanent address must be at least 50 miles from home unit
• Duties include verifying orders, preparing and explaining procedures to patients, interviewing for medical history, and performing/examining MRIs from start to dictated result
• Perform cardiac imaging and pediatric imaging with and without anesthesia
• Responsible for patient identification, safety, and care per protocol and infection control procedures
• Technical quality evaluation and consultation with radiologists as needed
• Support available from guest services, transport, child life services, and a tech assistant on overnights
• Orientation consists of 1 day administrative onboarding and up to 1 week in department
• Black scrubs are required

• Manager approval required for requested time off

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year MRI technologist experience, with recent experience within the last year
• Certification: ARRT(R) or NMTCB and ARRT(MR) or ARMRIT
• Current BLS certification
• First-time travelers are welcome
• Ability to prepare and administer IV contrast according to protocol
• Proficiency in Epic EMR is required
• License required if applicable
