Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg position at a Level 1 trauma center, requiring an active ND or compact RN license and at least one year of recent Med/Surg experience.

Responsibilities

• Work in a 47-bed acute care Med/Surg unit with surgical oncology patients
• Patient population includes general Med/Surg and surgical oncology cases
• Nurse-to-patient ratio is 5:1 on day shift and 6:1 on night shift
• Uses Epic EMR, AccuDose, bladder scanner, Phillips monitors, and telemetry
• 12-hour rotating day/night shifts with every other weekend and holiday required
• Floating to other Med/Surg units across campuses may be required
• Primary duties include comprehensive care, planning, implementation, and evaluation for Med/Surg and surgical oncology patients
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team including physicians and inter-professional colleagues
• Mandatory one-day lead center training and two 12-hour shifts of unit orientation with a preceptor provided
• Navy blue scrubs required
• Travelers must not live within 60 miles of the facility; local travel rate applies for those living 60-80 miles away
• All travelers must badge in and out of the facility
• Candidates with previous employment at Sanford Health must have an end date at least 6 months prior to consideration

Requirements

• Active ND or compact state RN license required
• Current AHA BLS certification required
• Minimum of 1 year recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Experience in a hospital with at least 200 beds and Level 2 or higher trauma center required
• Epic EMR experience required
• Experience with surgical oncology patients preferred but not required
