Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Telemetry position requiring a permanent OH or Compact RN license and recent Med/Surg Tele experience.

Responsibilities

• Med/Surg Telemetry unit in a hospital setting
• Night shift position, 3 twelve-hour shifts per week from 7:00pm to 7:30am
• Patient population includes adult Med/Surg and telemetry cases
• Qualivis – Lotus used for submitting hours worked
• Floating may be required based on clinical experience
• Provide nursing care for adult Med/Surg Telemetry patients on night shifts
• Orientation includes ECG rhythm recognition and safeMedicate assessments, with two attempts allowed to pass
• Modules must be completed prior to start and annually if contract is extended
• Badging and onsite fingerprinting required before start date
• Permanent and per diem candidates may not return to client hospitals for one year after previous end date
• Nurses are temporarily exempt from nicotine-free requirements
• First-time travelers are accepted
• All requested time off must be discussed during the interview

Requirements

• Active permanent OH or Compact RN license in hand
• AHA BLS and ACLS certifications are required and must be active
• Minimum of 18 months recent permanent Med/Surg Telemetry experience prior to travel
• One professional reference from a manager, ANM, supervisor, or director in Med/Surg Telemetry is required for consideration
• Negative 10-panel plus nicotine (cotinine) drug screen required within 12 months of start
• No open background cases or license hits accepted
• BCI/FBI fingerprinting must be completed within 48 hours of signing contract
• Copy of driver’s license and Social Security card required
