Med/Surg RN Job Details

• Location: Wichita, KS 67214 (Kansas healthcare jobs)
• Facility Setting: Acute Care – Medical/Surgical & General Surgery Unit
• Assignment Start Date: December 22, 2025
• Assignment End Date: March 23, 2026
• Contract Duration: 13-week travel nursing assignment
• Shift: 12-hour nights (7P - 7A)
• Weekly Hours: 36
• Estimated Weekly Salary Range: $1360 - $1460
• Employment Type: Travel RN contract

Registered Nurse Qualifications

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license (Kansas or compact state)
• At least 1 year of recent Med/Surg nursing experience
• Experience with pre- and post-operative inpatient care
• Skilled in wound care and management of central lines (PICC, port, CVC)
• Strong communication and compassionate patient care skills
• Proficiency with Meditech EMR preferred

Med/Surg RN Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality nursing care to patients on a 36-bed Medical/Surgical unit
• Monitor, assess, and document patient conditions; administer medications and treatments
• Support patients undergoing general surgeries (hernia repair, colon resection, thyroidectomy, complex wound procedures)
• Collaborate with a multidisciplinary healthcare team (RNs, LPNs, patient care technicians, unit clerks)
• Operate and manage wound vacs, NG tubes, chest tubes, and other acute care equipment
• Ensure patient safety and compliance with hospital policies and unit guidelines
