Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Float Pool position covering Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, and Step-Down ICU units on night shifts, requiring an active IL RN license and strong cardiac skills.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital float pool with assignments to Medical Surgical, Cardiac Telemetry, and Step-Down ICU units
• Patient population includes adult medical-surgical and cardiac patients requiring progressive care
• Night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:30 AM
• Float between multiple units including medical-surgical, cardiac step-down, and telemetry
• Assignment duration is 8 weeks
• Utilize the nursing process in collaboration with interdisciplinary team members
• Administer prescribed medications and treatments according to hospital standards and state laws
• Document care and patient responses following established protocols
• Develop and execute personalized care plans, including patient and family instruction
• Participate in performance improvement activities and support other departments as needed
• Work requires critical thinking for patient safety and escalation when necessary
• Night shift role with floating responsibilities across several acute care units

Requirements

• Active IL RN license required
• Minimum 2 years of nursing experience
• Certifications required: Basic Life Support (BLS), Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS), and NIH Stroke Scale (NIHSS)
• Extensive cardiac experience required
• COVID-19 vaccination required
