Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Labor and Delivery position requiring a CO or compact RN license and certifications in BLS, NRP, and EFM.

Responsibilities

• Work in a hospital Labor and Delivery unit
• 12-hour night shifts from 7:00 p.m. to 7:30 a.m.
• Required to work 6 to 9 weekend shifts within a 6-week period
• On-call is required when placed on low census or census changes
• Floating may be required to any facility within a 60-mile radius or designated float zone, which may include duties outside original assignment requirements
• EPIC EMR is used and experience is required
• Responsibilities include patient assessments, implementing care plans, performing therapeutic and diagnostic interventions, and patient and family education
• Nurses must delegate appropriately and work collaboratively within inter-professional teams
• Mandatory flu vaccination required from November 1 through March 31 unless a physician-signed medical exemption is provided; religious exemptions are not accepted
• No local travelers allowed; must live at least 60 miles from the facility
• Returning travelers may not remain on assignment beyond one calendar year from the initial start date and must observe a break before returning
• Professional dress code and scrubs required in accordance with unit policy

Requirements

• Active CO or compact RN license is required at the time of consideration
• Associate Degree in Nursing required; BSN preferred
• American Heart Association BLS certification required
• Neonatal Resuscitation Program (NRP) certification required
• Electronic Fetal Monitoring (C-EFM) or AWHONN certification required
• Minimum of one year Labor and Delivery nursing experience preferred
• Must provide copies of all active certifications for consideration
