Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an Interventional Radiology Technologist with at least 1 year of vascular experience and active FL license for an acute care setting.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short-term acute care hospital with Level II adult trauma and Level I pediatric trauma designations
• Primary assignment is in Interventional Radiology with 4 procedure rooms, 3 equipped with biplane; equipment includes 3 Siemens and 1 GE system
• Daily caseload per technologist ranges from 20-30 cases
• Patient population includes stroke intervention, neurointerventions, PE thrombectomy and thrombolysis, DVT interventions, pain management, and oncology procedures such as Y-90, MAAs, and chemoembolizations
• Specialized procedures include stents, ablations, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, vascular studies, neurological studies, and stroke thrombectomy
• 4x10 hour day shifts, 07:30-18:00, with weekend shifts required
• 8-10 on-call days per month based on staffing, including one Saturday shift per month; 30-minute response time required and sleep rooms available for call shifts
• Floating within the hospital may be required based on facility needs
• Cerner EMR is used, with experience preferred
• First-time travelers are accepted for this position
• No RTO (requested time off) included in the contract; any RTO must be discussed with the unit manager onsite
• Permanent employees must have a one-year gap before returning as a traveler; recent BayCare travelers may only return in select specialties
• Team includes support for educational modules and annual competency requirements
• Candidates must pass a pre-assignment EKG exam; up to three attempts allowed
• Black or navy scrubs required
• Smoke-free facility
• Parking costs are included

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of experience in Interventional Radiology with vascular case experience
• Current BLS and ARRT certifications required
• Active FL license required at time of consideration; compact State License not accepted
• Proficient in PACS systems and contrast, biopsy procedures
• Experience with stents, ablations, angioplasty, angiograms, nephrograms, kyphoplasty, upper/lower extremity, abdominal and pelvic, vascular, and neurological studies
• COVID-19 vaccination required; exemptions accepted for medical or religious reasons
• Cerner EMR experience preferred
• Must live at least 100 miles from the facility to qualify for travel assignment
