Job Description

American Traveler is hiring a Cath Lab Technologist with 2+ years of interventional radiology experience and required MD RT-R ARRT, ACLS, and BLS certifications.

Responsibilities

• Work in a short term acute care hospital's cardiac catheterization and interventional radiology lab
• Day shift schedule, Monday through Friday, 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, 40 hours per week
• On-call required every other week: Mondays, Wednesdays, and Thursdays from 3:30 PM to 10:00 PM, and Saturdays from 8:00 AM to 4:00 PM
• Holiday coverage required every other holiday
• Required to float within units of equivalent or lower level of acuity
• Special procedures include interventional (catheter placements, embolizations, drain and peg placements), pain (epidural blocks, radiofrequency ablation), and vascular (angiograms, thrombectomies, fistulograms, IVC filters)
• Uses Siemens, GE, and Philips Azurion C-arm equipment and Cerner EMR
• Duties include performing a range of interventional, vascular, and pain management procedures in collaboration with a multidisciplinary team
• Scrubs are provided
• Magnet certified facility
• Training modules required pre-start and may be assigned during orientation
• Return staff must not have worked at the facility within the past 12 months
• Maximum of 7 days RTO permitted over the 13-week contract; no time off allowed in the first two weeks
• Local candidates within 60 miles accepted at a lower rate
• Team support and orientation details provided upon hire

Requirements

• Minimum of 2 years interventional radiology or cath lab experience required
• Current MD license and RT-R ARRT required
• BLS and ACLS certifications required
• Experience with angioplasty, embolization, IVC filter placement, liver biopsy, mesenteric angiogram, paracentesis, stent placement, thoracentesis, catheter/drain exchange, and central venous access
• Proficiency in accurate patient monitoring, EKG lead placement, sterile field maintenance, and use of PACS
• Cerner EMR experience required or expected
• Computed tomography, ultrasound, and IV start skills preferred
• First-time travelers will not be considered for this position
• License required if applicable
