Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced RN for a Critical Care Float Pool ICU position in Ohio requiring at least 2 years of ICU experience and an active OH or compact license.

Responsibilities

• Work as a Critical Care Float Pool RN in a hospital setting
• Float between Neuro ICU, Surgical ICU, Medical ICU (MICU), Cardiology/Diagnostics, CVICU, SICU, and NCCU units based on staffing and acuity needs
• Weekend night shifts, 3x12 hours, 7:00 PM – 7:30 AM
• Nurses will float to units of equal or lower acuity as required
• Uses Epic for charting and documentation
• Must be flexible to float between various ICU specialty units as needed
• All time off requests must be submitted at the time of application
• Mandatory fingerprinting process for OH must be completed promptly upon contract signing
• Local candidates are accepted at the same rate
• Former employees eligible after a 6-month break from facility employment
• Current employees of Ohio State University hospitals are ineligible for assignment as travelers

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license in hand at time of consideration
• Minimum 2 years of ICU experience required
• Current certifications: BLS, ACLS, and NIHSS
• Proficiency with Epic EMR is required
• Experience with IV starts, telemetry, and ventilator management
• Education from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program required
• Two professional references required, including at least one from a manager, director, or formal supervisory role
• Previous travel nursing experience strongly preferred
