Job Description

American Traveler seeks a Speech-Language Pathologist for a home health role providing care in South King and Pierce Counties, requiring 2 years of experience and active licensure.

Responsibilities

• Position is in a home health post-acute care setting
• Typical caseload is 4-5 patients per day
• Patient diagnoses include CVA, ALS, MS, and varying levels of dementia
• Responsibilities cover South King County (Burien, Tukwila, Kent, Federal Way) and Pierce County (Tacoma, Lakewood, Puyallup)
• Epic is used for electronic documentation
• Day shifts are available Monday-Friday 8am–5pm or Monday-Thursday 8am–6pm
• No weekend or holiday shifts required
• Two-week orientation is provided
• Provide direct home health speech-language pathology care for patients with neurological and cognitive conditions
• Perform dysphagia and swallowing assessments
• Deliver therapy for cognitive and aphasia impairments
• May work with rehab aides/Speech-Language Assistants
• Dress code is scrubs or business casual
• Returning employees must not have worked for a related facility in the past year
• Candidates must meet all professional document and reference requirements for consideration

Requirements

• Active state or compact SLP license required if applicable; pending licenses not accepted
• Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Speech-Language Pathologist
• Current BLS certification required
• CCC-SLP certification preferred but not required
• Experience with dysphagia/swallow assessments and cognitive/aphasia care
• Background in rehab/SNF helpful if lacking home health experience
• Experience using Epic is required
• Copy of driver's license required
• Two professional references: one supervisor from the last 12 months, one peer or supervisor from the last 3 years
