Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist Assistant with 2+ years of experience and active state licensure for a 13-week home health assignment focused on orthopedic and neurological rehabilitation.

Responsibilities

• Work in a home health, post-acute care setting serving assigned geographical regions
• Patient population includes orthopedic injuries, strokes, joint and spinal injuries
• Care team includes PT, OT, Speech, with permanent Rehab Aides/OTAs/PTAs providing support
• Uses Cerner for documentation and charting
• Flexible 8-hour day shifts, primarily Monday through Friday, with weekend coverage every third weekend
• Occasional holiday coverage may be required
• Floor-specific orientation is provided for 1.5 to 2 weeks
• Main responsibilities include providing rehabilitative therapy to home health patients with varying conditions including orthopedic and neurological diagnoses
• Assigned to cover specific geographical regions as determined by the care team
• Business attire with a white lab coat is required; jeans are not permitted
• Candidates may be required to work minor holidays and major holidays if needed
• Returning candidates must not have been directly employed by any associated facility, including CommonSpirit, CHI, or Dignity, within the past year unless previously employed PRN through an outside firm
• Local candidates may be accepted; specific radius requirements may apply depending on the state

Requirements

• Active state or compact (NLC) Physical Therapist Assistant license required if applicable; pending licenses not accepted
• Current BLS certification required, with active status at consideration
• Minimum of 2 years recent experience as a PTA
• Experience with OASIS documentation is required
• At least 1 year experience working with PT/OT/Speech therapy; home health experience preferred
• Two references required: one from a supervisor within the last 12 months, and one from a peer or supervisor within the last 3 years, including dates of employment and eligibility for rehire
• Copy of driver's license required for consideration
