Job Description

American Traveler is seeking a Physical Therapist with home health experience, a Michigan license, and BLS certification for a full-time day shift assignment.

Responsibilities

• Position is based in home health serving Van Buren, Calhoun, and Kalamazoo counties
• Work schedule is Monday through Friday, 8:00am to 5:00pm, with every other weekend required and a day off during rotation week
• No call or floating required
• Patient care will include orthopedic and neurologic cases such as post-op joint replacements, cervical and spinal conditions, and various neurological disorders
• Main responsibilities include evaluation, treatment, and developing home exercise programs for a diverse patient population
• Patient care focuses on orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation in the home health setting
• Patient and family education are essential components of this role
• Annual and onboarding modules must be completed during orientation and are self-reported
• Locals will be accepted at the same rate without radius restrictions
• RTO must be communicated prior to assignment

Requirements

• Current Michigan PT license required
• BLS certification from AHA required
• Minimum one year of recent home health experience required
• Experience in acute care, outpatient, rehab hospital, and SNF settings required
• Ability to perform patient assessments, body mechanics, and educate patients and families
• Orthopedic and neurologic rehabilitation skills required, including post-surgical care
• Proof of flu vaccination required or exemption requested within 48 hours of signing contract
• References required for consideration
