Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
Guaranteed Hours: 36 hours/week

Registered Nurse Qualifications

Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Illinois (required at submission)
Minimum 2 years of recent Emergency Room RN experience
Required certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, NIHSS
Preferred certifications: CPI, TNCC
EPIC charting experience preferred
Ability to float between Belleville and East campuses and inpatient units
No local candidates within a 75-mile radius
Must be available to work every other weekend
Experience caring for neonates, pediatrics, adolescents, adults, and geriatrics

ER Nurse Responsibilities

Deliver high-quality, compassionate emergency nursing care to patients of all ages
Perform advanced ER procedures: central line insertion, arterial lines, chest tubes, post-cardiac arrest hypothermia, intubations, and trauma care
Respond to emergency codes: code stroke, code STEMI, code blue, and other urgent situations
Care for a diverse patient population, including trauma, sexual assault, mental health, and pediatric patients
Utilize advanced equipment: rapid infusers, hypothermia devices, glidescopes, bedside cardiac monitors, ultrasound, and infant warmers
Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare teams and float to other units as needed
Maintain accurate, timely documentation in EPIC
Participate in ongoing education and orientation (24 hours provided)
