Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an experienced Emergency Room RN with a current or pending Oregon license and recent ER experience for a night shift position.

Responsibilities

• Work in the Emergency Room of a short-term acute care hospital
• Patient ratio is typically 1:4 in the ER setting
• Night shifts (3x12 hours), 19:00-07:00
• Requires weekend shifts per department needs
• Block scheduling available
• Scrubs can be any color; scrubs are provided for the Emergency Department
• Uses Epic EMR system; Epic experience required
• No on-call responsibilities
• No floating between units within the same facility, but may float to nearby sister facilities as needed
• Responsible for providing emergency nursing care to patients presenting with a variety of urgent and life-threatening conditions
• Expected to float between sister facilities as needed; refusal to float could result in contract termination
• Holiday coverage requirement—must work 3 of the 5 main holidays (Thanksgiving, Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, New Year's Eve, New Year's Day)
• Time off requests must be submitted up-front prior to contract signing; excessive RTO may delay or jeopardize offer
• Pre-assignment online orientation modules are required for completion prior to start
• First-time travelers are not accepted for this position

Requirements

• Active OR RN license or eligibility with pending license accepted
• Minimum 2 years of recent ER RN experience required
• Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS) certifications
• Epic charting experience required
• At least 2 supervisory references covering 1 year within the past 3 years must be provided prior to start
• Must have a reliable vehicle for travel between possible facility locations
• Must not reside within 50 miles of the facility to be eligible for travel nurse rates
• Former perm staff must wait at least 3 months before returning as a traveler
