Houston Nursing Job Details

• Location: Houston, TX 77090 (Texas nursing jobs)
• Assignment Type: Travel Registered Nurse
• Start Date: August 4, 2025
• End Date: November 3, 2025
• Duration: 13-week contract
• Shift: 7:00 PM – 7:00 AM (12-hour night shifts)
• Hours per Week: 36
• Unit: Emergency Department (50 beds), Level II Trauma Center, Comprehensive Stroke Center (pending), Chest Pain Center
• Weekend Requirement: Every other weekend
• Dress Code: Royal Blue Scrubs

ER RN Job Requirements

• Active Registered Nurse (RN) license in Texas or compact state
• Minimum 1 year of recent Emergency Room nursing experience
• BLS (Basic Life Support) certification
• ACLS (Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support) certification
• PALS (Pediatric Advanced Life Support) certification
• TNCC (Trauma Nursing Core Course) certification
• Trauma nursing experience preferred
• Experience with Meditech EMR preferred
• Strong teamwork and positive attitude

Emergency Room Nurse Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality, compassionate patient care in a fast-paced Emergency Department
• Assess, triage, and monitor patients with acute and critical conditions
• Perform and assist with trauma and emergency procedures
• Collaborate with multidisciplinary healthcare professionals including RNs, LVNs, paramedics, PCTs, and BHTs
• Utilize advanced clinical equipment such as GE Monitors and Belmont Rapid Infuser
• Document patient care using Meditech EMR system
• Maintain a 4:1 patient ratio to ensure safety and quality outcomes
• Follow all departmental policies, procedures, and best practices
