Unit: OB – The Birth Center

Position Overview:

TriStar Hendersonville Medical Center is seeking experienced Labor & Delivery Registered Nurses for night shift travel assignments in the OB unit. This is a 13-week contract in a high-acuity, patient-centered environment with a strong focus on innovation and nurse support.

Key Requirements:

Must-Have Qualifications:

• Minimum 2 years of Labor & Delivery experience
• Intermediate fetal monitoring (AWHONN)
• Triage experience
• Ability to circulate in the OR
• Experience with couplet care

Required Certifications:

• BLS
• NRP
• STABLE
• AWHONN Intermediate Fetal Monitoring

Unit Details:

• Beds: 20 LDRPs, 5 OB assessment beds
• Staffing:
  • Unit Secretary: Monday–Friday
  • PCT: Monday–Friday, 3:00 AM – 11:30 AM
  • OB Scrub Tech: 24/7 coverage
• Patient Ratios:
  • 1:1 for active labor, VBACs, magnesium sulfate, insulin
  • 1:3–4 for couplets
  • 1:1–2 for triage and early labor
• Equipment: GE fetal monitors, Novii telemetry
• EMR Systems: CPN and Meditech
• Scheduling: Timpani scheduling system (preferences highly considered)
• Floating: No floating required
• Patient Experience: Bedside shift report required every shift

• Vaginal deliveries
• Cesarean sections (C/S)
• External versions
• Epidurals
• Postpartum tubal ligations
• Cerclage removal
• Circumcisions
