Responsible for performing diagnostic cardiovascular ultrasound procedures to assist physicians in diagnosing and treating cardiac conditions. This includes 2D echo, M-mode, color flow, Doppler, stress echo, and transesophageal echo. The role supports a high standard of patient care and teamwork within the cardiology department.

• Perform and assist with cardiovascular diagnostic procedures.
• Operate and maintain ultrasound and cardiology equipment.
• Accurately document test results and alert physicians to critical findings.
• Assist with additional testing: EKGs, cardiac/pulmonary monitors, PFTs, LE Doppler, and stress tests.
• Clean and disinfect equipment per protocols.
• Support inventory, clerical duties, and patient transport.
• Participate in staff training, student supervision, and quality improvement (CQI).
• Practice family-centered care and ensure HIPAA compliance.
• Provide CPR when needed and maintain a safe, organized work environment.

Education:

• Associate or Bachelor's in Vascular/Echocardiography or allied health with on-the-job training.

Licensure/Certifications:

• CCI or ARDMS Registered Cardiac Sonographer (or registry-eligible)
• CPR certification

Experience:

• 1–2 years preferred in echocardiography, including:
  • 2-D Echo with M-Mode
  • Spectral & Color Flow Doppler
  • TEE
  • Stress Echo

• Rhythm recognition competency
• Interpersonal and communication skills with patients, families, and staff
• EMR/charting and documentation proficiency

• Ability to work with diverse patient populations (adolescent to geriatric)
