Travel Surgical Technician - Wausau, WI
13-Week Contract | Up to $2,700 Weekly (Based on Experience)
Connected Health Care, a premier recruitment and staffing firm, is seeking an experienced Travel Surgical Technician to join a respected healthcare facility in Wausau, Wisconsin . This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled surgical tech with cardiac experience who's looking to work with a dedicated surgical team while enjoying the natural beauty and friendly community of central Wisconsin.
Contract Length: 13 Weeks
Shift: Monday - Friday, 6:30 AM - 3:00 PM
On Call/Call-Back: 1 night of call per week, 1 weekend per month, and 1 backup per week
Weekend/Holiday: Every 3rd-4th weekend; holiday rotation required
Job Description:

Prepare operating rooms for surgical procedures by ensuring all instruments and sterile supplies are available
Assist surgeons and nurses during procedures by anticipating needs and maintaining a sterile field
Handle surgical instruments, sponges, and equipment safely and efficiently
Maintain accountability for instruments and supplies before, during, and after surgery
Clean and sterilize instruments and restock supplies for subsequent procedures
Support the surgical team with setup for cardiac and other specialized cases
Adhere to all infection control and safety standards within the surgical suite
Collaborate with surgeons, nurses, and other team members to ensure smooth workflow and quality patient outcomes

Education and Certification Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required
AHA BLS (Basic Life Support) certification required
Certified Surgical Technologist (CST) license preferred
Minimum of 2 years of cardiac surgical experience required
Prior travel experience required
Familiarity with Epic charting preferred
