Position: Cardiovascular Invasive Radiology Technologist
Care Setting: Acute
 

Shift & Schedule

• 4x10s, Monday–Friday, 7:00 AM – 3:30 PM
• ~10 call shifts per month (weekday call: 3:30 PM – 7:00 AM)
• Weekend call coverage (Sat/Sun 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM)
• Holiday coverage: on-call 7:00 AM – 7:00 AM
• Guaranteed Hours: 40/week
• Contract Length: 13 weeks 

Unit Details

• Department: Cath Lab & Interventional Radiology (Cost Center 133)
• Suites: 7 total (2 cath labs, 5 IR rooms, 2 holding bays)
• Avg Cases: 4–5 per day (range 2–9)
• Case Types: Adult cardiac only — PCI, devices, peripherals, ICDs, pacers (no EP/ablations)
• Cath Lab Team: 3-person (2 RNs + 1 tech)
• Charge Nurse: Resource RN helps with assignments, also does cases
• Orientation: 2 shifts with preceptor + “buddy call” for Cath Lab
• Floating: May float to Non-Invasive CV to start IVs

Technology

• EMR: Epic (“Cupid”) + Xper Dynamics system
• Tele: Phillips, hardwired at bedside
• Equipment: Acist injector (preferred but can be trained), IABP, IVUS required
• Meds: Omnicell, some meds mixed in-lab, others by Pharmacy
• Scrubs Provided:
  • Rad Tech – Burgundy

Requirements

• Experience: Minimum 2 years experience
• For CV Rad Techs: ARRT (R), WV license, BLS, ACLS (RCIS not accepted )
• Other: Must have experience with IABP & IVUS; Acist injector familiarity preferred but not required
• Licensing: Must be eligible to submit with WV state licensure

Submission Rules

• Must include unexpired driver’s license copy (must live >50 miles from facility)

Other Notes

• Cardiologists: On call 24/7
• RT: Available in ICU if needed
• Pharmacy: 24/7
