Job Description

American Traveler is hiring an experienced RN for a Med/Surg Adult Surgical Unit night shift assignment requiring a WI or compact RN license and BLS certification.

Responsibilities

• Work in an Adult Surgical Unit with some pediatric patient beds in a hospital setting
• Night shifts from 6:30 PM to 7:00 AM, 12-hour shifts
• Required to work every other weekend and some holidays
• 13-week contract assignment
• May be required to float to other units as needed
• Performs comprehensive nursing care using the nursing process in collaboration with an interdisciplinary team
• Responsible for administering prescribed medications and treatments according to policy and state laws
• Documents patient care per standards of care
• Develops and implements individualized patient care plans with patient and family instruction
• Participates in departmental performance improvement activities and may contribute to shared governance initiatives
• Provides clinical support and guidance to other departments in alignment with patient care plans
• Utilizes critical thinking for patient safety and escalates concerns appropriately

Requirements

• Active WI or compact RN license
• Current BLS certification
• Flu vaccination required
• Experience as a Med/Surg nurse preferred
• Must be available for night shift work
