Job Description

American Traveler is seeking an Occupational Therapist for an acute care hospital assignment requiring Illinois OT license, BLS, and experience with Epic and Level 1 Trauma environments.

Responsibilities

• Position is in an acute therapy unit of a hospital
• Day shift schedule: Monday through Friday, 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM
• Works with patients of all ages requiring occupational therapy in an acute care setting
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Duties include evaluating and treating patients, developing and adjusting care plans, educating patients and caregivers, and supervising support staff such as COTAs and rehabilitation technicians
• Responsible for performing safe patient transfers, using sound body mechanics, and documenting care according to department and regulatory standards
• Utilizes standardized outcome measures for consistent and accurate functional assessment
• Works collaboratively with the care team and communicates patient needs and discharge planning with medical staff
• RTO not to exceed 7 days over 13 week contract
• Returning travelers must have a 6-month break in service after 1 year at this health system
• No local candidates and no travel partners accepted

Requirements

• Current Occupational Therapy (OT) license from Illinois required, if applicable
• Current BLS certification required
• Bachelor’s degree in Occupational Therapy required
• Minimum 1 year of recent experience in acute care settings
• Experience in Level 1 Trauma environment required
• Experience with EPIC charting system required
• Candidates must live more than 50 miles from the facility
