Job Description:

We are seeking a highly experienced Transportation Engineer to lead complex infrastructure projects across Pennsylvania, from preliminary engineering through final design. This role requires deep expertise in highway design and water resources engineering, with a focus on innovation, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities:

-Lead the design and delivery of highway infrastructure projects, including preparation of PS&E (Plans, Specifications & Estimates) packages.

-Conduct advanced drainage and hydraulic analyses, and develop stormwater management solutions.

-Prepare Erosion and Sediment Control plans and NPDES permit submissions in accordance with regulatory standards.

-Ensure all project deliverables meet PennDOT and Pennsylvania Turnpike Commission (PTC) submission requirements.

-Manage and mentor technical teams, including developing staffing plans and overseeing design workflows.

Minimum Qualifications:

Bachelor's degree in Civil, Transportation, or Structural Engineering or related discipline. Professional engineering (PE) license. 12 years of related experience. Domestic and/or international travel may be required. The frequency of travel is contingent on specific duties, responsibilities, and the essential functions of the position, which may vary depending on workload and project demands. Equivalent additional directly related experience will be considered in lieu of a degree.

Preferred Qualifications:

-Expert knowledge of drainage and hydraulic analysis, and stormwater management.

-Expert knowledge in preparing Erosion and Sediment Control and National Pollution Discharge Elimination.

-System permit submissions.

-Strong background in highway design.

-Expert knowledge in the submission requirements for PennDOT and PTC.

Additional Compensation:

All bonuses at CDM Smith are discretionary and may or may not apply to this position.
