Tractor Trailer Mechanic

We are seeking a skilled Tractor Trailer Mechanic to perform both preventive and reactive repairs on tractors and trailers. The role involves a range of tasks including preventive maintenance, engine work, and using diagnostic tools to identify and resolve issues.

Responsibilities:

• Perform preventative and reactive repairs on tractors and trailers.
• Conduct preventive maintenance such as lube, filters, interior/exterior cab inspections, tire inspections (tread, inflation, rotation, wear), oil changes, and wheel seals.
• Carry out engine work, including replacing alternators, starters, drive cams, brakes, springs, differentiators, alignments, S-Cams, and U-Joints.
• Conduct MIG and Stick welding as needed, such as welding on mud-flaps and brackets.
• Utilize torch and grinder as necessary.
• Use a laptop to connect to engines for troubleshooting and diagnosing issues.
• Track work through internal Transman (TMT) software.

Additional Skills & Qualifications:

• 5+ years' experience performing maintenance on Tractors and Trailers
• Ability to troubleshoot equipment via laptop.
• Experience working with clutches, brakes, wheel seals, and suspension.
• Proficiency in MIG and Stick welding.
• Experience working on refers and possession of a refrigeration license.

Pay and Benefits:

The pay range for this position is $23.00 - $34.00/hr.
