Job Title: Telecoms Engineer

Location: Pittsburgh, PA

Target Salary: $100k -110k

Travel: Up to 75% for this position

Accountabilities:

  Configure and test network equipment (routers, switches, firewalls) and radio communications hardware (base stations, antennas, DAS).

  n

• n

  Configure network protocols (IP addressing, routing protocols) and radio protocols (LMR and wideband).

  n
n
• n

  Perform and be accountable for verification and validation activities starting in the factory until system hand over

  n
n
• n

  Perform site surveys on railroad property to lay out basic equipment.

  n
n
• n

  Supervise installations of Fiber Optic Cabling Systems and data communications systems

  n
n
• n

  Test Network, radio and fiber systems

  n
n
• n

  Troubleshoot network and radio equipment, conduct network performance tests, identifying, and resolving any connectivity issues or radio signal interference.

  n
n
• n

  Create checklists and reports including system configuration, test results and any identified issues.

  n
n

Required Skills & Experience:

n
• n

  Minimum of 5 years of experience working with medium/complex networks and in radio deployment.

  n
n
• n

  Working Knowledge of network design patterns, constraints and protocols (networking certification preferred)

  n
n
• n

  Working knowledge of Switching and Routing protocols

  n
n
• n

  Working knowledge of wireless communications in demanding scenarios

  n
n
• n

  Excellent ability to use test equipment including multi-meters, oscilloscopes, and a spectrum analyzer.

  n
n
• n

  Working knowledge of Test and commissioning processes.

  n
n
• n

  Skilled in handling electric, electronic, and mechanical drawings and schematics.

  n
n
• n

  Detail oriented with excellent organizational skills.

  n
n
• n

  Excellent written and oral communications skills and ability to communicate complex technical information.

  n
n

• n

  System integration, ensuring seamless integration between the network and radio systems, including synchronization and interoperability.

• n

  Radio Frequency/Telecommunications Qualifications/University Degree

  n
n
• n

  From 2 to 5 years of Railway System Engineering and Commissioning expertise

  n
n

Education:

Bachelor's Degree in an Engineering related discipline
