Tax Preparer

We are seeking a dedicated Tax Preparer who excels in resolving client inquiries and managing tax-related tasks efficiently. The role involves maintaining strong relationships with clients and handling tax filings for individuals, partnerships, S Corporations, and C Corporations. During the busy tax season, you may be expected to work extended hours, ranging from 60 to 70 hours per week if necessary.

Responsibilities

• Provide quick resolutions for client inquiries related to taxes.
• Maintain strong relationships with clients and professional contacts.
• Prepare and file tax returns for individual, partnership, S Corp, and C Corp entities.
• Work extended hours during the busy season, as needed.

Essential Skills

• Proficiency in tax accounting and tax return preparation.
• Experience with individual tax returns, specifically 1040.
• Must possess the Oregon Tax Preparer Certificate.
• Knowledge of general ledger, journal entry, accounts payable, and financial services.
• Familiarity with GAAP, including profit/loss statements.
• Strong skills in MS Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUP.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree preferred.
• Experience with Lacerte Tax or other tax software.
• Background in bookkeeping/accounting.
• Initiative and problem-solving abilities.
• Personable and professional demeanor.
• Attention to detail and excellent communication skills.

Work Environment

The work environment is client-focused, with a hard-working team dedicated to service excellence. The team consists of 9 members across three offices supporting the tax side, with collaboration among partners when workloads are heavy. The standard schedule is Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM, with flexible hours as needed. Employees accrue 40 hours of sick leave, and there are 9 billable holidays. Job Type & Location

This is a Contract position based out of Beaverton, Oregon.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $25.00 - $33.00/hr.
