Leidos' Defense Systems Land Systems division is calling for a skilled Systems Engineer to be part of a dynamic team focused on crafting innovative solutions to complex challenges. With a widespread presence across the United States, we engage in various sectors, including defense, space, cyber, and commercial ventures, delivering responsive and cost-effective engineering, scientific, and IT solutions.

This role invites you to join a collaborative matrixed organization, working alongside fellow systems and reliability engineers across a range of exciting programs. Candidates with experience in areas like Reliability, Availability, and Maintainability (RAM) Analyses, Model-Based Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Human Factors Engineering, and Risk Management will receive preference. A Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering or other pertinent technical fields from an ABET-accredited institution is an essential requirement for this position.

Key Responsibilities:

• Engage with other reliability engineers on significant programs associated with the DoD, DARPA, NASA, and commercial applications.
• Conduct RAM analyses, including reliability prediction, Mean Time to Repair (MTTR), reliability block diagrams (RBD), Failure Modes Effect Analysis (FMEA), Fault Tree Analysis (FTA), and more.
• Drive Systems Engineering activities such as deriving requirements from client needs, collaborating with program management and design engineers, modeling system behaviors, defining architectures, dictating interfaces, performing verification, and aiding test program development.
• Oversee configuration management throughout the design life cycle.

Basic Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related technical field from an ABET-accredited university.
• A minimum of 4 years of relevant experience, or 2 years with a Master's degree.
• Familiar with fundamental reliability practices and methodologies.
• Evident experience in deriving complex system requirements, encompassing electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
• Proven ability to excel in a collaborative and agile engineering environment, showcasing effective communication skills while taking initiative and demonstrating leadership when necessary.
• Exemplify resourcefulness through adept problem-solving, critical thinking, and decision-making skills.
• Willing to reside in the North Alabama area or relocate to the Huntsville - North Alabama region.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with reliability analysis tools like Reliasoft or Relyence.
• Background in reliability-related analyses such as MTTR, MTBF, FMEA, and more.
• Familiarity with electronic circuit simulation software, particularly LTSpice.
• ASQ Certified Reliability Engineer (CRE) certification.
• Experience using SysML for Model-Based Systems Engineering diagrams.
• Proficient in tools like Cameo Systems Modeler.
• INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (SEP) certification (ASEP).
• Understanding of the DoD acquisition processes and methodologies.
• Experience supporting programs from DoD, NASA, or DARPA.
• Basic proficiency in VBA or other programming languages.

Pay Range: $85,150.00 - $153,925.00
