Systems Engineer

Apex Systems is seeking a Systems Engineer to work onsite in Huntsville, AL.

Responsibilities:

• Concept of Operations formulation
• Requirements definition, analysis, and engineering
• System architecture and design
• Interface and data architecture development
• Validation and verification
• System integration
• Operational performance analysis
• Lifecycle cost analysis and estimation
• Decision analysis and resolution
• May serve as the sole systems engineer on moderately complex projects or as part of a team supporting larger, more complex efforts.
• Performs independent work in support of systems engineering tasks.
• Capable of delivering timely and efficient solutions to a variety of engineering challenges.
• May provide informal leadership or mentorship to entry-level engineers.

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Systems Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related field from an ABET-accredited university
• Seeking 8+ years of experience with a BS degree, or 6+ years with an MS degree.
• Experience deriving requirements for complex electrical, electro-mechanical, mechanical, and software systems.
• Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary engineering teams.
• Strong communication skills within team environments.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master of Science in Systems Engineering from an ABET-accredited university.
• 24 years of direct systems engineering experience.
• Experience or working knowledge of:
• MagicDraw or other Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) tools
• DOORS or similar requirements management tools
• Department of Defense (DoD) acquisition processes
• Supporting DoD programs
• Certifications:
• Object Management Group (OMG) Certified System Modeler Professional (OCSMP)
• INCOSE Systems Engineering Professional (ASEP or CSEP)
