Job Description:
We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Systems Administrator to join our IT team in Pittsburgh, PA. This hybrid role offers the opportunity to work both onsite and remotely, providing flexibility while ensuring hands-on collaboration with our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in systems administration and infrastructure management. While cloud operations will be part of our future roadmap, the immediate focus is on managing on-premise systems, data center operations, and enterprise IT tools.
Key Responsibilities:
Systems Administration:

Manage, maintain, and troubleshoot on-premise and virtualized server environments (Windows, Linux, Mac).
Oversee and maintain network infrastructure, including firewalls, switches, and wireless access points.
Monitor system performance and ensure high levels of availability, reliability, and security.
Perform routine maintenance, updates, and patch management for servers and workstations.
Manage and maintain Active Directory, DNS, DHCP, and Group Policy configurations.
Administer and support Office 365 and Microsoft Intune for device and application management.
Provide technical support and guidance to internal teams for hardware, software, and infrastructure issues.
Manage data center operations, including physical hardware, cabling, and environmental monitoring.

Future Cloud Operations (CloudOps):

Collaborate on planning and executing the organization's migration to cloud-based infrastructure (AWS or Azure Cloud).
Support the design and implementation of hybrid environments integrating on-premise and cloud solutions.

Security & Compliance:

Implement and maintain security best practices across systems and infrastructure.

Conduct regular audits and vulnerability assessments to ensure compliance with company policies and industry standards.
Respond to security incidents and support investigations as needed.

Collaboration & Communication:

Work closely with cross-functional teams to design and implement IT solutions that align with business goals.
Document system configurations, processes, and procedures.
Provide training and support to end-users as needed.

Qualifications:
Required:

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
3+ years of experience in systems administration, including managing data center environments.
Strong knowledge of virtualization technologies (Hyper-V, VMware etc.).
Hands-on experience managing Office 365, Microsoft Intune, and Active Directory.
Solid understanding of networking concepts (TCP/IP, VPN, VLANs, etc.).
Familiarity with monitoring tools to ensure system health and performance.
Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.

Preferred:

Experience with scripting and automation tools (e.g., PowerShell, Python).
Familiarity with cloud platforms (AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud) and hybrid IT environments.
Certifications such as Microsoft Certified: Azure Administrator Associate, CompTIA Server+, or similar.
Experience with data backup and disaster recovery solutions.

Work Environment:

Hybrid role: 2-3 days onsite in our Pittsburgh office, with the flexibility to work remotely on other days.
Occasional after-hours or weekend work may be required for system maintenance or incident response.
