Schedule: 10 hour shifts, Monday-Friday, 7a-5:30p

Sign-On Bonus: Up to $7,500

SUMMARY:

Join our dynamic surgical team as a Surgical Technologist, where you'll play a vital role in the success of surgical procedures. As a key member in the operating room, you will ensure that instruments, supplies, and equipment are properly managed, maintaining sterilization throughout the process.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Maintain at least 15 hours of Continuing Medical Education (CME) each year.

• Check and prepare supplies, instrumentation, and equipment for surgical procedures, ensuring everything operates correctly.

• Establish and maintain a sterile field during surgical procedures, assisting the surgical team with patient draping to isolate the operative site.

• Apply aseptic techniques to uphold the sterile field and notify the surgical team of any breaches.

• Efficiently pass instruments and supplies to the surgeon during operations.

• Conduct counts of sponges and sharps with the RN before the surgery and before closing the incision.

• Prepare sterile dressings for patient incision sites.

• Stock surgical rooms and handle medications, sharps, and syringes as required.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS:

• Completion of a military surgical technology program -OR-

• Certification as a Surgical Technologist through the National Board of Surgical Technology and Surgical Assisting (NBSTS) and a degree in Surgical Technology -OR- qualification under the Grand-Fathering Clause.

• Surgical Technologist Certification via NBSTSA required within 24 months of employment with a degree from an accredited program.

• Licensed Practical Nurses (LPN) with current licensure in the State of New York are exempt from Surgical Technologist Certification requirements.

NEW GRADUATES:

• Official transcript or a letter from the school's registrar confirming program completion is accepted upon graduation.

• Primary source education verification required within 90 days of start date.

Medium Work - Must be able to exert 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently. This role involves substantial walking, standing, or squatting.
