The UH Cleveland Medical Center Operating Room is looking for Surg Techs interested in joining our night shift team!

Hours of Operation: 3(12)s M-F 7pm- 7:45am, no weekends or call

• $5k sign-on bonus for external candidates with 1+ years of experience and a $2,500 sign-on bonus for new grad techs.

Essential Functions

• Provide safe efficient age specific nursing care to patients/families using nursing interventions in order to assist them to attain, maintain, regain, and sustain optimal health status.
• Provide patient care/function in a primary scrub position.
• Assist with technical responsibilities in assigned operative procedures.
• Assure appropriate instruments/supplies are present and in proper working condition.
• Provide labeled medications with correct doses on the sterile field.
• Perform other duties which support the operative team, includes following patient care hand off protocol.
• Actively participate in the quality improvement process.
• Involved in learning and self-improvement.

• Must abide by all requirements to safely and securely maintain Protected Health Information (PHI) for our patients. Annual training, the UH Code of Conduct and UH policies and procedures are in place to address appropriate use of PHI in the workplace.

Qualifications

Education

• Other Accredited Program Graduate from an accredited Surgical Technologist program (Required) or
• Other Accredited Program Completion of a military Surgical Technologist training program (Required)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

• Expert knowledge of asepsis, instrumentation, suture and surgical procedures in a defined specialty (Required proficiency)
• Meets Surgical Technologist II promotional/maintenance requirements (Required proficiency)
• Good communication skills. ( proficiency)
• Ability to work in a team environment. ( proficiency)
• Ability to use a wide variety of technical equipment to meet patient care needs and prescribed medical therapies. ( proficiency)

Licenses and Certifications

• Basic Life Support (BLS) within 90 Days ()
• Surgical Technologist Certification preferred but not required
