Position Overview

Primary responsibilities include gathering supplies and instrumentation for surgical procedures as per surgeon preference, maintaining a sterile field, and anticipating the needs of the surgical team. The role requires vigilance in aseptic technique and mentorship to other staff.

Responsibilities

1. Perform duties of a Surgical Tech 1 and 2.
2. Serve as a Registered Certified Surgical Technologist with at least two years of experience.
3. Assume leadership roles and mentor staff.
4. Participate in professional growth activities, including committee meetings.
5. Possess exceptional knowledge of at least one specialty service.
6. Engage with professional organizations related to healthcare.

Compensation

Position Compensation Range: $23.76 - $38.02 Hourly.

Minimum Requirements

• Education: High School Diploma or equivalent; graduation from an accredited CAHEEP or ABHES program, or NCCT approved program.
• Experience: Minimum of three years.
• Licensure: BLS certification; Certified Surgical Technologist (NBSTSA); Current Virginia registration at hire.

Physical Demands

Requires standing for prolonged periods, repetitive motions, lifting heavy instruments (>50-100 lbs), and exposure to various environmental factors.
