Join our dynamic team as a Surgical Technologist I in our Operating Room (OR) department, where you will play a vital role in facilitating safe and effective surgical procedures. With a total of 5 operating rooms and a range of service lines including Burn, Oral Maxillofacial Surgery, Adult Dental, Pulmonary, and GI, you will have the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on patient care.

This full-time position offers a consistent schedule of 40 hours per week, specifically from 7:00 am to 5:30 pm, four days a week, with 1-2 late shifts. Enjoy a work-life balance with no nights, weekends, or recognized holidays requiring work.

Key Responsibilities:

1. Perform technical duties across all operating room specialties, adhering to accepted standards and practices.
2. Maintain and ensure proper sterilization techniques for instruments and supplies.
3. Utilize aseptic techniques, proactively identifying any breaches and implementing corrective measures.
4. Conduct surgical counts accurately and follow established procedures for any discrepancies.
5. Assist in the preparation and handling of surgical specimens, ensuring proper labeling and identification.
6. Organize and set up instruments and surgical drapes to optimize access during procedures.
7. Provide assistance to surgeons, applying knowledge of patient anatomy relevant to surgical actions.
8. Engage in case planning and instrument preparation prior to surgeries.
9. Adjust scrubbing procedures as necessary based on the surgical situation and emergency protocols.
10. Oversee inventory management, reporting any defective instruments and ensuring proper supplies in the OR.
11. Collaborate closely with registered nurses during the intraoperative phase.
12. Operate complex surgical equipment, troubleshooting issues as needed.
13. Serve as a mentor and preceptor for Surgical Technician Trainees.

Education & Qualifications:

• No formal degree required if experience criteria are met.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification is required.
• Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technology or Nursing program or a military training program in Surgical Technology; equivalent experience may substitute formal education for candidates with 3+ years of surgical tech experience.
• Experience required: 0-3 years.
• Strong communication and organizational skills are essential.
