Surgical Technician

Location: UCHealth UCHlth Inv OrthoSpine Surg Ctr, US:CO:Englewood

Department: INV ASC Operating Room

FTE: Part Time, 0.5, 40.00 hours per pay period (2 weeks)

Shift: Days

Pay: $27.61 - $41.41 / hour. Pay is dependent on applicant's relevant experience

Job Summary:
As a Surgical Technician, you will play a crucial role in facilitating the safe and efficient performance of surgical procedures, working closely with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare the surgical operating suite with necessary drapes, solutions, instruments, equipment, and supplies.
• Ensure all equipment and instruments are in good working order.
• Assist in preparing, transporting, positioning, and draping patients.
• Pass instruments to the physician during surgery, maintaining awareness of the number and location of instruments and supplies.
• Process specimens for delivery to the laboratory.
• Utilize critical thinking skills and decisive judgment, working effectively with minimal supervision in a fast-paced environment.

Requirements:

• High School diploma or GED or military training.
• State Surgical Assistant or Surgical Technologist registration.
• 6 months of Surgical Technician experience or graduation from an accredited Surgical Tech program.
• BLS certification through the American Heart Association or the American Red Cross CPR for the Professional Rescuer, valid prior to start date.
