Surgery - Vascular Physician Assistant

We are seeking a skilled Physician Assistant specializing in Cardiovascular & Thoracic Surgery for a locum tenens position at a hospital in Virginia. This assignment offers multiple coverage periods starting 10/17/2025, with potential for extension. The ideal candidate will be comfortable with CABG and SAVR procedures, typically performing two cases per day. Responsibilities include first assisting in surgeries, covering the floor, participating in rounds, and occasionally seeing patients in the office. Experience with Endoscopic vein harvesting is required. The position involves working with the Epic electronic health record system.

Job Responsibilities and Duties:

• First assist in cardiovascular and thoracic surgeries, primarily CABG and SAVR procedures

• Cover hospital floor and participate in patient rounds

• Occasionally see patients in the office setting

• Perform Endoscopic vein harvesting

• Utilize Epic electronic health record system

• Manage typically two surgical cases per day

• Collaborate with the surgical team to ensure optimal patient care
